Taking the form of an over-sized children's game, this multi-piece wooden structure can be erected as both an isolated sculptural form or in direct response to its immediate environment. It can achieve many varied formations due to the nature of its interlocking component parts. Its organic versatility can enable the structure to extend from one space to another via a doorway or corridor, and climb or descend stairs and other level-changing features.
Material: Ply wood, desert camouflage netting (used by the British M.O.D). Dimensions: 60 pieces at 60 X 40 X 0.9 cm. Date: 2006/7. Credit for photographic documentation: Simon Warren. Notes : Currently seeking sponsorship/ exhibition space for related unrealised projects for this work such as c amouflage drawings upon the structures flat surfaces. I am interested in the dialogue between individual marks and images that extend over several surfaces and/or differing geometric plains. This work will be a vehicle to enable the viewing of drawing independently from the gallery wall.
